FACHRS is able to consider bona fide applications for academic assistance with the gathering of data that requires 'hand on' academic field research activity in the fields of Local, Family or Community History within the United Kingdom. |
Academic researchers requiring support should normally be associated with a University or College though this is not exclusive, and requests from other bona fide academic researchers will receive equal consideration. |
| What
type of support can FACHRS provide? What does FACHRS get out of it? Who has publication 'rights' for the findings of the research? Would FACHRS provide financial support for a project? Does FACHRS have references for prior work? What
type of support can FACHRS provide? A typical project could involve 20 - 30 members located around the UK & working under the guidance of a project leader (usually the person who applied for the research support) to collect and submit the data to the project Leader via a project coordinator (provided by FACHRS). A project would normally have a predefined time scale and end date by when all the collected data must be submitted to the project leader. What
does FACHRS get out of it? Who
has publication 'rights' for the findings of the research? Individual FACHRS members are also free to publish or present their own individual findings & are normally encouraged to present a short paper or presentation either at the Society Annual Conference, the Society Journal FACH or in the Society Newsletter. Would
FACHRS provide financial support for a project? Can
FACHRS supply references to support the level and quality of prior
research activity? |
