Society research projects are integral to the purpose of the Society and provide opportunities for members to further their research skills and explore the interaction between families and the social structures within communities. The morning's academic programme commences with a review on the project that examined the provision of almshouses within a community. Time is then allocated for Society members to present the results of their own individual work. The afternoon programme brings to members the outcomes of two of the Society's existing projects, Victorian Marriage and Career Servants. The second part of the afternoon sees the introduction of a new project that will investigate the provision and impact of 19th and early 20th century education within a community. A full supporting programme is provided.
