Members Interests Gender distribution within FACHRS

In the Jan 2000 Survey, the membership were not specifically requested to confirm their gender. However an approximation has been possible by simply counting obvious genders from stated forenames and comparing that with the October 2000 Membership List.

That 61 persons only identified themselves by their initials obviously posed a challenge!

It may be that both genders are equal in number ... though perhaps unlikely, and first conclusions are that more female members are engaged in research than males. No doubt aspiring sociologists can make something of this fact!
