Membership DemographicsAt the end of 1999 a survey was undertaken of the members' interests to assist the organising team to better understand and meet the needs of the membership. Members were asked to identify their areas of research in the expectation that some commonality would be evident. You can view the top-level analysis of that survey.
The prior survey did in fact identify one particular challenge, that being the broad range of research topics that the membership were pursuing! This has hindered the organising team from achieving the benefits that could accrue from shared interest or data gathering. In an attempt to get the format and content of the next survey more in alignment with the objective of generating greater benefits for the membership, a small pilot survey would be beneficial. Volunteers Required! We need about thirty to forty members to take part in a trial of a new approach to our survey. Volunteers would receive an electronic questionnaire from the Membership Secretary. The objective would be to complete the questionnaire and to note any difficulties experienced or to offer suggestions for improvement. The completed questionnaire together with comments etc., would be returned to the Society for collation, discussion and incorporation as necessary into a revised survey form. If you are a member who would be willing to participate in the trial (it will occupy you for an hour at the maximum) and subsequent feedback discussions (by email) please register as a volunteer now! ... thanks
